Abstract：Based on a few data of shallow boreholes from very complicated geologic condition of the fracture structure at dam site of Longyangxia project, the three dimensional initial ground stress field was deduced inversely. It agrees reasonably with in-situ measurement. Ground stress behaviour of various fault zone and its mechanical effect are analyzed, relevant conclusions are obtained and related criteria are presented.
