Abstract:The crossing-river tunnel plays an important role in the connection of nearby cities. Nevertheless, the tidal bore brings a great challenge to the design and construction of the tunnel for its powerful impulse. The tidal bore brings the river to rise sharply in short time, which will cause vibration to the tunnel. The main frequency is obtained through the frequency analysis of the vibration signals. The results show that the peak vertical acceleration of the tunnel is smaller than the local vibration caused by the construction of vehicles. Hence, the tidal bore is not the dominant factor to the safe operation of the tunnel.
