Modified Rowe’s dilatancy law of rockfill and Shen Zhujiang’s double yield surfaces elastoplastic model

Abstract:Based on the results of large scale triaxial tests,the volumetric deformation characteristics of rockfill materials were investigated,and a modified Rowe’s dilatancy equation with concise form for rockfill was proposed.Then,the modified Rowe’s dilatancy equation was introduced into to Shen’s elastoplastic model with yield surfaces to overcome the shortcomings of using the parabola to fit the εv–ε1 curves of rockfill.The simulation of the results of large scale conventional triaxial tests and complex stress-path triaxial tests were carried out to confirm the feasibility of the new model.
