3D simulation and analysis of highway tunnels by use of advanced entrance construction method

Abstract:The construction process of advanced entrance of highway tunnel was simulated,and the stress and displacement in surrounding rock and advanced support structure were analyzed based on the actual conditions of Laoshan highway tunnel located on Nanjing-Huaian Highway.It was shown that the advanced support structure and soil body between the two tunnels had good effect on the slope stability of mountain.The construction of advanced entrance of highway tunnel was beneficial not only to the reduction of the amount of slope excavation but also to the stability and safety of the tunnel entrance.
